Disk Mapping

Want an easy way to visualize your hard drive usage? There is a wonderful, fun piece of software in your Software Manager called GdMap.

Graphical Disk map will draw a colorful  representation of all the files on your drive. Because it’s reading everything, it can take a couple of minutes after you select a folder before it shows the map.

The little squares on the map, increase in size based on the size of the file. The colors represent the different file types.

In the example of my bedside computer, all the teal colored tiles are audio files. I purchase a lot of albums from Amazon!

So give this little application a try, you might be surprised where all your space is going!
